Reznikov assessed Ukraine's losses since the beginning of the war

The losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the war against the aggressor country Russia are less than the number of victims of the devastating February earthquake in Turkey. This was stated by Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov in an interview with the Spanish newspaper La Razon, published on Sunday, April 16.

"Of course, we have casualties because we are at war. But they are critically less than the Russians. I can't give you a number, but I can assure you that the total number is less than the number of deaths in the earthquake in Turkey," the head of the military department said.

Reznikov assured that for Ukraine, the main task is to save the lives of soldiers, while Russia uses its military as cannon fodder.

"This is a meat grinder tactic. They (Russians - ed.) don't care. In Bakhmut alone, Russia loses 500 people killed and wounded every day. This is one battalion a day of Wagner's group members, mercenaries and former criminals. This is barbarism," the minister said.

As you know, according to official figures, more than 50 thousand people died and more than 107 thousand were injured in Turkey as a result of a series of earthquakes in February. More than 6,500 more were killed in neighboring Syria.

Last November, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Russia's losses were 10 times greater than Ukraine's.

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, since the beginning of the war, Russia has lost more than 182,000 military personnel in the line of duty. On April 13 alone, at least 520 Russians were killed.
