Russian diplomats will be restricted in their movement in Poland

May 27, 2024

The Polish authorities have announced restrictions on the movement of diplomats from Russia through the country. According to Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski, this step is a response to Russia's participation in the hybrid war against the European Union, Reuters reports.

“These are national decisions, but we have evidence that the Russian state is involved in sanctioning sabotage in our country. We hope that the Russian Federation will take this as a very serious warning,” the minister emphasized.

According to Sikorsky, the restrictions will apply to all embassy and consulate personnel, except for the ambassador.

The Russian diplomatic mission in Warsaw refused to comment to the media. Embassies said they had not yet received official information about the new restrictions.
