The head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, met with U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken.
According to Yevropeiska Pravda, State Department spokesman Vedant Patel said this at a briefing in Washington.
According to the State Department spokesperson, they discussed a number of issues, including the upcoming NATO summit in Washington and the intentions of NATO members to bring Ukraine closer to membership and to help strengthen Ukraine's ability to defend itself against Russian aggression.
He indicated that they also discussed energy security and the ongoing efforts of the G7 countries to increase the resilience of Ukraine's energy grid and energy systems.
"The secretary of state also congratulated Mr. Yermak on his historic support (from other countries) at the Global Peace Summit," Patel said.
In addition, the State Department spokesman added, Blinken noted Ukraine's "strong and historic defense" Ukraine's "strong and historic defense" of its northern and eastern regions against Russian offensives.
