Slovenia is ready to take part in the restoration of Ukraine

Slovenia supports the peace formula of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and is ready to participate in the restoration of Ukraine.

As stated in the document, the heads of government discussed the state and prospects of bilateral relations in the context of Russia's armed aggression against Ukraine and the resulting security, economic and social challenges for the European continent and the world.

The parties condemned the Russian terror against the civilian population and civilian infrastructure of Ukraine and emphasized the need for the immediate and complete withdrawal of all Russian troops and armed formations from the sovereign territory of Ukraine within internationally recognized borders.

The Prime Ministers of Ukraine and Slovenia also emphasized the need to strengthen Ukraine's defense capabilities and the importance of investigating war crimes committed by Russia and its officials to bring the perpetrators to justice.

At the same time, Slovenia expressed support for the Peace Formula of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and will continue to support Ukraine on its path to full membership in the European Union and NATO.

The Heads of Government stressed the importance of expanding the Black Sea Grain Initiative to other Ukrainian seaports and welcomed Slovenia's readiness to participate in the restoration, reconstruction, and modernization of Ukraine, in particular in the areas of green transition, digitalization and telecommunications, education, energy, and energy efficiency, waste management and water treatment, construction, planning, and infrastructure.

During the meeting, Shmyhal and Golob discussed support for demining and restoration of Ukrainian territories.

The Head of the Ukrainian Government thanked the Slovenian side for the visit on the occasion of the first anniversary of the de-occupation of Bucha when the world saw the crimes committed by the Russian Federation in the settlements of Kyiv region.

"It is important not to forget this tragedy and to condemn all those responsibly. We are talking specifically about the criminal prosecution of criminals and their punishment. Slovenia has experience in this matter. We appreciate your solidarity with us," Shmyhal said.

He also thanked Slovenia for its continued support of Ukraine in all areas.
