NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has said that Ukraine, as a country defending itself against aggression, has the right to strike at "legitimate military targets" outside its borders.
According to Yevropeiska Pravda, he said this on 10 April during a meeting with Finnish President Alexander Stubb at NATO headquarters in Brussels.
Stoltenberg reminded us that Russia invaded Ukraine in a flagrant violation of international law, and Ukraine has the right to self-defense enshrined in the UN Charter.
"And we have the right to help Ukraine defend its right to self-defense without dragging NATO Allies into the conflict. And Ukraine has the right to self-defense, including strikes against legitimate military targets outside of Ukraine to defend itself," he added.
