The Government has established a special border regime

The Cabinet of Ministers has adopted amendments to its resolution "On the Border Regime" that regulate the grounds for citizens' stay in the border areas.

Details: Melnychuk notes that the government has amended its resolution of July 27, 1998 "On the Border Regime" to implement the Law of Ukraine of February 24, 2023 (entered into force in March).

These amendments establish a special border regime and prohibit free entry, stay, residence, movement of persons and work not related to the defense or protection of the state border within the land plots provided for permanent use by military units of the State Border Guard Service for the construction, arrangement, and maintenance of engineering and fortification structures, fences, border signs, border clearings, and communications.

It also defines the procedure for issuing permits for entry, stay, residence, work, and access to the border strip.
