The Russia for the first time officially mentioned PMC "Wagner"

The Russian Ministry of Defense commented on the media conflict with the private military company Wagner. They still claim that the occupation forces of the Russian Federation have completely captured Soledar, Donetsk region.

The Ministry of Defense writes that "offensive actions" in Soledar "were carried out by a heterogeneous group of Russian troops (forces) according to a single plan and plan". The city was stormed by aviation and artillery. Also, according to the Ministry of Defense, mercenaries from the PMC "Wagner" are taking part in the fighting. This is the first time the Russian ministry officially mentioned them.

"As for the direct assault on the city quarters of Soledar occupied by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, this combat task was successfully resolved by the courageous and selfless actions of the volunteers of the Wagner PMC assault units," the statement said.

Russian legislation does not provide for the activities of private military companies. Despite this, in favor of the Russian army, the founder of the PMC "Wagner" Yevhen Prigozhin actively recruits mercenaries, including prisoners from Russian colonies.

The Ukrainian side stated that the fighting in Soledar continues.
