Trump says he did not return classified documents

Former US President Donald Trump said he did not have time to return the secret documents he took to his Mar-a-Lago estate because he was "very busy."

He said this in an interview with Fox News.

Trump claims that the box of secret documents also contained his personal belongings.

"I wanted to go through the boxes and get all my personal things out of there... And I was very busy, as you can see," the former US president said.

According to him, he put "golf shirts" and "shoes" in the box with the classified documents because he was "in a hurry" to leave the White House.

"I took them out in a hurry. People packed them up and we left. I had clothes in there, I had all kinds of personal stuff in there, a lot of stuff," Trump added.
