The UK government has identified an 89-point list of national security threats, including a possible new pandemic, Russia's ability to disrupt global energy supplies and extreme weather.

This was reported by Sky News.

The government has updated the list of threats to help British residents prepare for the "worst-case scenarios" that could hit the country, Downing Street explained.

Among the possible threats to national security, the British government also named the malicious use of drones to disrupt transportation and other key infrastructure elements, as well as a possible failure of the underwater transatlantic telecommunications cables.

The list of risks also includes the assassination of a British statesman.

The latest list contains some previously classified information, making it the most transparent since the first publication of such a list in 2008.
