Nov 24, 2022

The readiness of Belarusian troops to invade Ukraine directly is assessed as low. There is an unwillingness to participate in the so-called “special operation”.

This was reported by RBK-Ukraine, citing a statement by the deputy head of the Main Operative Directorate of the General Staff of the AFU, Oleksiy Gromov, during a briefing.

He noted that the military leadership of the Republic of Belarus has decided to extend until November 28 the inspection of the combat readiness of the national armed forces, including with the involvement of groups of officers of the Russian Armed Forces.

"I would like to note that a similar inspection has been going on since May this year. At the same time, the readiness of the Armed Forces of Belarus to conduct independent offensive actions is assessed as low. The morale and psychological state are considered low due to the refusal to take part in the so-called 'special operation' as well as in the war with Ukraine," Gromov said.

The official also noted: "About 10-15 thousand personnel of power structures of the Republic of Belarus are ready to take part in the "special military operation" of the Russian Federation. First of all, because of the high monetary support."

In addition, on November 24, the Armed Forces of Belarus warned Belarusians: Russian special services are preparing provocations at critical infrastructure facilities in Belarus in order to draw its military into the war against Ukraine.
