IAEA to support completion of Khmelnytsky NPP units

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will provide Ukraine with technical support in the completion of Khmelnytsky NPP units.
This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Energy.
“The International Atomic Energy Agency has expressed its support for Ukraine's intentions to expand nuclear energy, in particular the completion of the construction of units at the Khmelnytskyi NPP, and is ready to provide technical support to the project,” the statement said.
It is noted that Ukraine is at the final stage of negotiations with Bulgaria on the supply of reactors, and construction can begin as soon as the Verkhovna Rada supports the relevant bill.
In addition, IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi proposed to launch a technical support mission to ensure the safe integration of new components into existing systems.
