Prime Minister of Ireland arrives in Kyiv

Irish Prime Minister Simon Harris arrived in Ukraine today, September 4. He will meet with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the Irish broadcaster RTE.

Harris has already visited the city of Borodyanka in Kyiv region, which was heavily damaged by Russian occupiers at the beginning of the full-scale invasion.

Ireland has been helping with the construction of temporary housing in this city.

Simon Harris is expected to meet with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. According to RTE, they will discuss the EU's support for Ukraine, as well as the prospects for Ukraine's accession to the European Union.

Harris and Zelenskyy are also expected to sign a memorandum of understanding on a new bilateral agreement between Ireland and Ukraine. The agreement, which was discussed by the Irish government the day before, will express Ireland's solidarity with Ukraine and its right to be protected from Russia's illegal invasion.
