After the Russian missile strike on Poltava, the United States did not change its policy of providing Ukraine with the capabilities and permission to strike deep into Russian territory. The aforementioned Russian strike on Poltava killed 50 people and injured more than 200.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to a statement by US Defense Department spokesman General Patrick Ryder, as quoted by Ukrinform.
Answering the question whether the latest Russian missile strike on Poltava had prompted the US leadership to decide to provide Ukraine with the ability to strike Russia with long-range weapons, Ryder said: “Regarding our policy on long-range strikes (against targets in Russia - ed.). I don't have any announcements at this time about any changes in our policy.”
At the same time, he assured that the United States, together with its allies and partners, will continue to provide Ukraine with air defense equipment.
