Death toll in Poltava rises to 54 after Russian strike

The number of victims in Poltava after the shelling on September 3 has increased to 54. There may be more people under the rubble.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.

“The death toll from the Russian strike on an educational institution in Poltava has increased to 54. Another 297 people were injured,” the report said.

According to the State Emergency Service, search and rescue operations are ongoing with due regard to the security component.

“It is likely that up to 5 more people may be under the rubble. We have already dismantled and removed 1,760 tons of construction waste,” the rescuers added.
