ABC Channel Approves Rules for Trump-Harris Debate

ABC has approved the rules of the debate between US Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump and Democrat Kamala Harris, which will take place on September 10.

According to the channel's journalists, the debate will be held at the National Constitutional Center in Philadelphia. The moderators will be David Muir, anchor and editor-in-chief of the World News Tonight program, and Lynsey Davis, anchor of the Prime program.

The debate will not be open to the public and will last 90 minutes with two commercial breaks, and microphones will be turned on only for the candidate whose turn it is to speak. Only moderators will be allowed to ask questions.

According to the journalists, the candidates will not have any opening remarks, and the closing speeches will last two minutes per candidate.

The time for answering each question will also be limited to two minutes, with another two minutes for refutation and another one for clarification, explanation or answer.

Candidates are expected to stand behind the podiums during the debate, and there will be no props or pre-prepared notes on stage. Each candidate will receive a pen, a notebook and a bottle of water.

Campaign representatives cannot communicate with the candidates during commercial breaks.

At the same time, the TV channel's report does not indicate whether the final consent of the candidates has been received.

The journalists also reminded that on Tuesday, September 3, a virtual coin toss was held to determine the place on the podium and the order of the final speeches - Trump won and chose the order.
