Belarus moves equipment and military to the border with Lithuania

Belarus has deployed a tactical group of the 19th Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus to the border with Lithuania.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the monitoring group Belaruski Gayun.

According to Belaruski Gayun, on August 31, an echelon with equipment of the 19th Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus (military unit 71327) was being formed at Zaslonovo station.

Already on September 1, the echelon was spotted on the outskirts of Minsk, moving in a westerly direction.

On the same day, at 15:30, the echelon arrived at Gudogay station (Ostrovets district, Grodno region). The station is located seven kilometers from the border with Lithuania.

A tactical group of the 19th Airmobile Brigade consisting of up to 2 motorized infantry companies (14 BMP-2, 2 Mul medical vehicles), a tank company (10 T-72B tanks, 1 BREM-1), 1 mortar battery (6 120-mm mortars 2S12 Sledge), vehicles, etc. was deployed to the border with Lithuania. In total, 38 units of equipment and about 250 soldiers.

“At the moment, the units of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus do not pose a military threat to Lithuania,” Belaruski Gajun noted.
