An exchange of fire between Israeli and Egyptian troops takes place

A firefight broke out between Israeli soldiers and Egyptian border guards at the Rafah checkpoint. This was reported by the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF).
According to the Times Of Israel, an Egyptian soldier was killed in the incident. There were no casualties among the Israelis.
The Israeli Defense Forces have not yet made a statement on the incident. Similarly, Egyptian officials have not reported the incident.
“A few hours ago, there was a shooting on the border with Egypt. The incident is being investigated, and negotiations are underway with the Egyptians,” the statement said.
According to the Gaza Ministry of Health and Palestinian medics, at least 35 people were killed in an Israeli strike on a camp for displaced persons in Rafah on Sunday.
