"Better than Trump": Scholz publicly supports Biden's re-election

May 23, 2023

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has publicly endorsed the candidacy of incumbent US President Joe Biden in the 2024 US elections. This was reported by Reuters.

In a speech to elementary school students near Berlin on Monday, May 22, Scholz said that Trump's victory would not be good for either the United States or Germany.

"I think the current president is better, so I want him to be re-elected," the chancellor said in response to a question from a student.

Scholz noted Biden's many years of experience in public service and added that he knows exactly "how to prevent a world war." Also, according to the chancellor, Trump "stands for a great split in the country."

Donald Trump has recently made a number of provocative statements about Ukraine and the full-scale war unleashed by Russia. For example, he said that if re-elected, he would allegedly be able to end Russia's war against Ukraine "in one day."
