Biden discussed with von der Leyen economic support for Ukraine

On Thursday, April 20, U.S. President Joe Biden spoke with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen. They discussed support for Ukraine.

"The two leaders discussed President von der Leyen’s recent trip to Beijing and their shared commitment to upholding the rules-based international order, human rights, and fair trade practices," the report said.

Biden and von der Leyen also reaffirmed the U.S. and EU commitment to provide Ukraine with needed economic and security assistance.

"President Biden and President von der Leyen also reiterated the commitment […] to continuing to work closely together to impose costs on the Kremlin for Russia’s aggression," the White House added.

As a reminder, the U.S. announced on April 19 that it would provide Ukraine with new weapons as part of another military aid package.
