US President Joe Biden has confirmed that he is considering a decision to provide Ukraine with long-range ATACMS missiles.
Biden said this in a comment to a Bloomberg journalist.
When asked whether the provision of long-range missiles to Ukraine was still being discussed, Biden replied: "Yes," but clarified that the Ukrainian forces already have the equivalent of ATACMS - presumably he was referring to Storm Shadow and SCALP missiles - and that they need artillery shells most of all.
"We are working on it," he added.
The Army's ATACMS tactical missile systems are surface-to-surface missiles with a range of about 300 kilometers, about four times the range of the missiles used by the HIMARS mobile systems that the United States began sending to Ukraine last year.
