US President Joe Biden has increased his lead over his rival Donald Trump ahead of the presidential election in November.
A new Reuters/Ipsos poll shows this.
About 41% of registered voters in the five-day poll, which ended on Monday, said they would vote for Biden. Former President Trump would be chosen by 37%.
In the last Reuters/Ipsos poll in March, Biden's lead over Trump was 1 percentage point.
The poll has a margin of error of 4 percentage points for registered voters, and many voters remain undecided seven months before the November 5 election.
Approximately 22 percent of registered voters said they had not chosen a candidate, were leaning towards other options, or would not vote at all.
While national polls provide important signals about American support for political candidates, only a few key states typically tip the scales in the U.S. Electoral College, which ultimately decides who wins the presidential election.
