During his visit to Vietnam, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken met with the country's prime minister, with whom he discussed, among other things, the war in Ukraine.
According to Ukrinform, he said this at a press conference after the talks at the US Embassy in Vietnam.
"We talked about Ukraine and Russian aggression in Ukraine. Vietnam has a long history and relations with Russia. We understand and recognize this. At the same time, I clearly heard from our Vietnamese interlocutors how they publicly declared their commitment to the basic principles (of the UN - ed.), which are also threatened by Russian aggression," Blinken said.
According to him, the Vietnamese government supports Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
"The principles underlying the UN Charter are territorial integrity, sovereignty, and independence. Vietnam strongly supports this. They have made it clear. They have spoken about it publicly and reiterated it today in a conversation with us," Blinken said.-
