Blinken travels to Moldova and Czech Republic for talks on Ukraine

U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken will visit Moldova on Wednesday, May 29, to meet with President Maia Sandu and other senior officials, Reuters reports.

It is noted that the visit to Chisinau will be Blinken's first stop on a short European tour, during which he will seek to strengthen Western support for Ukraine among NATO allies and neighboring countries.

After Moldova, Blinken plans to visit Prague in the Czech Republic, where he will participate in an informal meeting of NATO foreign ministers to prepare for the July summit in Washington.

According to Reuters, at the meeting, representatives of NATO countries may discuss allowing Ukraine to strike targets in Russia with Western weapons.

Earlier, the US State Department announced that Blinken would travel to Moldova and the Czech Republic on May 28. He and European officials will discuss further support for Ukraine.
