Borrell: NATO cannot depend on the whims of the US President

NATO cannot be dependent on the whims of the US president and a military alliance that does not fulfill its obligations.
This was stated by European Union's foreign policy chief Josep Borrell, according to Sky News.
Earlier, Donald Trump suggested that the United States may not be able to protect NATO allies who do not spend enough money on their own defense against a potential Russian invasion.
Asked to respond to Trump's comments, Borrell said: "NATO cannot be an 'a la carte' military alliance... depending on the humour of the president of the US."
As a reminder, during a political rally on February 10 in South Carolina, Trump complained about what he called "overdue" payments from some NATO countries and spoke about a past conversation with the head of a "great power" about Russia attacking such countries.
