Britain will provide expert support in the rebuilding Ukraine

Ukraine and the United Kingdom signed a memorandum of understanding under which the partners will provide expert support in the process of rebuilding Ukraine.

This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction, Minister of Community Development, Territories and Infrastructure Oleksandr Kubrakov on Facebook following a meeting of the Ukrainian-British working group on infrastructure, Ukrinform reports.

"Among the specific agreements is a memorandum of understanding between the Ministry, the Recovery Agency, the Department for Infrastructure and Projects of the United Kingdom, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, and the UK Development Cooperation. British partners will provide their expert support in the process of rebuilding Ukraine," Kubrakov emphasized.

In addition, the participants of the meeting discussed the participation of British partners in the reconstruction of Kyiv and Kharkiv, the restoration of transport, social, and critical infrastructure.

Among the projects discussed was the reconstruction of six bridges in Kyiv region, funded by the UK Government's Export Credit Guarantee Department.

"A separate aspect of the negotiations is risk insurance. The UK has vast experience in the insurance sector, and it is important for us to apply it in Ukraine now," the Deputy Prime Minister added.

Among other things, the Ukrainian delegation met with representatives of British business. In particular, they discussed participation in strengthening the energy security of communities, namely the development of cogeneration projects and joint work on the modernization of district heating systems. At a meeting with representatives of Zaha Hadid Architects and Bechtel Corporation, they discussed the implementation of joint infrastructure projects.
