China and Russia's membership in the UN SC is a relic of the past

The UN is fundamentally broken. China and Russia, which are members of the Security Council, are disregarding international law.
This was stated by former US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo during a visit to Kyiv, RBC-Ukraine reports citing Radio Liberty.
The former US Secretary of State is skeptical about the future of the United Nations.
"We have seen how the UN Human Rights Council was run by the Iranians. We've seen Venezuelans in charge of human rights at the UN with Iranians who treated women like property... We've seen it over and over again," - Pompeo said.
According to him, the membership of China and Russia in the UN Security Council is a relic of the past, both of these countries disregard international law.
"It's a relic of the past that the Chinese Communist Party and Russia have two seats on the UN Security Council and are two countries that have no intention of abiding by international law. It is unlikely that they will comply. I think it's a mockery of what happened," the former US Secretary of State summarized.-
