The Swiss government will hold a two-day high-level conference on the settlement of the war in Ukraine - the so-called Peace Summit - in mid-June.

This was announced by the Swiss Department of Foreign Affairs, according to the Blick media outlet.

The conference is expected to take place at the Burgenstock resort in the canton of Nidwalden, near the city of Lucerne, on 15 and 16 June.

The meeting is to be a platform for high-level dialogue on ways to achieve a comprehensive, just, and lasting peace in Ukraine on the basis of international law and the UN Charter, the Swiss Foreign Ministry said.

The conference should create a common understanding of the framework that will contribute to achieving this goal. It should also develop a concrete roadmap for Russia's participation in the peace process.
