The destruction of the Kakhovka hydroelectric dam could complicate the implementation of some of Ukraine's plans. CNN reports this, citing a NATO source and a senior European military intelligence source.

According to the sources, the destruction of the dam may now complicate the crossing of Ukrainian troops across the Dnipro River and an attack on Russian positions.

In addition, the dam's collapse has created a serious humanitarian problem that the Ukrainian government will have to address and allocate resources to.

The source believes that all operations that were planned downstream of the dam will probably have to be re-planned, one of the TV channel's sources said. The water level will drop later, but the flood has most likely damaged bridges and roads in the area, so they cannot be used as planned.

The United States and Western intelligence are still investigating who is responsible for the destruction of the dam, but representatives of the intelligence community are inclined to believe that Russia is to blame.

At the same time, three NBC sources said that the US government has intelligence that supports the version that Russia is responsible for the destruction of the dam. The TV channel claims that Joe Biden's administration is working to declassify some of the intelligence and share it as early as Tuesday afternoon, US time.
