North Korea has said that its attempt to launch a second spy satellite into orbit has failed.

This was reported by Reuters.

On Monday, Pyongyang said it plans to launch its second reconnaissance satellite into orbit by June 4.

Shortly afterward, the DPRK's state news agency reported that the launch had failed and that the engine of the launch vehicle, a new development, had exploded during the first stage of the flight.
