Duda announces changes to the management structure in the army

Polish President Andrzej Duda has announced plans to change the command structure in the army, including the creation of the Joint Forces Command.

This was reported by PAP.

The President announced that he considers it necessary to create a Joint Forces Command.

"There is a clear need to unite the command system of the Polish army... I believe that as a result of the changes that will be proposed in the near future, legislative changes, a Joint Forces Command will be created, overseen by the Chief of the General Staff," Duda said.

He also announced his intention to restore the command of the military services, the overall structure of which will be the same in peacetime and wartime.

"The creation of a unified command system, unified procedures for peacetime and wartime will help us to get out of difficult situations if Poland faces an external threat... Roles will be distributed, tasks will be defined, and execution will be worked out - everyone will know where they should be and what their responsibilities are," the president said.
