During the strike on the museum in Kupyansk by Russian troops on the morning of April 25, employees of the city administration were injured.
Andriy Kanashevych, acting head of the Kupyansk district military administration, said this on the air of the national telethon "United News", an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
"The museum did not work. But the building was used as an administrative building, because many buildings in Kupyansk were destroyed by the occupiers' shelling. Both the city and district authorities are constantly looking for places to locate services. The department of culture and sports of the Kupyansk city administration was located there, and accordingly, MBA employees worked there, and mostly administration employees were injured," he said.
According to Kanashevych, a total of 8 people sought medical care, all of them are in satisfactory condition, some remain in the hospital.
According to preliminary information, the building is beyond repair.
"It was built in the early 20th century, there are wooden floors, everything is demolished. At first glance, the building is beyond repair. As well as the building next door, where the S-300 arrived three months ago, also from the early 20th century. It will just have to be demolished," said the head of the district.-
In total, more than half of the city's various institutions and educational facilities were destroyed or damaged.
"If we talk about municipal institutions and educational institutions, the percentage of destruction is definitely more than 50 percent. If we talk about private housing, 20 percent of it has been destroyed," noted Kanashevych.-
According to him, about 5,000 residents remain in Kupyansk.
