A part of the funds, namely 352 thousand euros, will be used by the non-profit organization Eesti Pagulasabi to provide multi-purpose financial assistance in the most vulnerable regions of Ukraine, to improve the living conditions of people in Ukraine and among Ukrainian refugees in Georgia.

In addition, another 303 thousand euros will be allocated to the non-profit Mondo association, which organizes summer after-school camps for schoolchildren in Zaporizhzhia and offers mental health support to people in Ukraine.

"The people of Ukraine, including young children, are paying a high and painful price because of Russian terror. Daily attacks, particularly in the Kharkiv region in recent weeks, have resulted in the deaths of civilians, the destruction of buildings and the displacement of thousands of vulnerable people from their homes. It is our duty to support them in every way possible," said Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tahkna.

According to the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, about 14.6 million people in Ukraine will need humanitarian assistance in 2024, with the most acute need in the frontline areas.
