Nov 24, 2022

The European Parliament and the European Association of Cities have launched the "Generators of Hope" initiative, which aims to collect generators for Ukraine in large quantities to help mitigate the difficulties arising from the constant damage to infrastructure by Russian missile strikes.

European Parliament President Roberta Metsola and Italian Florence Mayor Dario Nardella said at a joint briefing.

"Today we are jointly launching the Generators of Hope initiative. The situation is difficult. 10 million Ukrainians are now without electricity as a result of targeted strikes on civilian energy infrastructure... Ukraine needs light for hospitals, schools, and homes. With the help of European cities, we can provide generators in large quantities," Roberta Metsola said.
