Minister of Foreign Trade and Development of Finland Ville Tavio has instructed to develop a plan for the country's participation in the reconstruction of Ukraine.
According to Ukrinform, this is stated in a press release from the Finnish Foreign Ministry.
"We continue to provide Ukraine with our strong support against Russian aggression. At the same time, we are preparing to rebuild an independent and democratic Ukraine. This work requires close and systematic cooperation between different parties," the minister said.
It is noted that the purpose of the first stage of the plan is to develop advisory services for Finnish companies on their possible participation in the restoration of Ukraine, as well as to identify financial ways to facilitate their participation.
The second stage involves the preparation of a long-term plan, including an assessment of the use of development cooperation funds.
It is added that the Department of Russia, Eastern Europe, and Central Asia of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland is primarily responsible for developing a plan for the reconstruction of Ukraine with the participation of Finnish business and industry and coordination with relevant parties from the central government and business.
The ministry emphasized that since the beginning of the Russian war of aggression in February 2022, Finland has provided support to Ukraine totaling 1.7 billion euros.
