Feb 9, 2024

Finland will soon send Ukraine the 22nd military aid package worth about 190 million euros.

This was reported by the government's press service, according to Yevropeiska Pravda.

Finnish President Sauli Niinistö confirmed this decision at the suggestion of the government. The conditional total cost of the package is 190 million euros. This is the estimated cost of replacing the relevant equipment for the Finnish army.

The package includes equipment purchased from the Finnish industry for 30 million euros.

With this package, the total value of Finland's military assistance to Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale war has reached 1.8 billion euros.

The contents of the package and the approximate time of delivery of these weapons to Ukraine are not disclosed for security reasons.

"At the national level and more broadly, we need to look for new ways to support Ukraine in the long term. We are currently working on a long-term plan to support Ukraine. Our industry has a lot of experience, and we are working in our department to ensure that this experience and capacity is effectively used to support Ukraine as well. One of the examples is our production of artillery ammunition," said Defense Minister Antti Häkkinen.

It is also added that Finland is a member of the so-called artillery and demining coalition within the Ramstein format.
