Finland has sent a thousand "baby packages" to Ukraine to support families with newborns in times of war.
This was reported by the Ministry of the Interior of Finland, according to Yevropeiska Pravda.
During February and March, a thousand packages with the most necessary things for newborn care were sent to Ukraine.
"Children in Ukraine are born in very difficult conditions, in the midst of war. Many goods are in short supply. Russia is trying to destroy the future of new generations of Ukrainians. By sending the baby care packages, we want to support newborns and their families," said Krista Mikkonen, Minister of the Interior.
The packages were purchased from Kela, the same social agency that provides them to Finnish families, and provided through the EU Civil Protection Mechanism.
