Ukraine and France have signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the field of transport.
This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Infrastructure, according to Yevropeiska Pravda.
The signing took place during a meeting on April 22 between Deputy Prime Minister for the Restoration of Ukraine Oleksandr Kubrakov, Minister Plenipotentiary for Transport at the Ministry of Ecological Transformation and Territorial Development of France, Clément Bon, and the Special Envoy of the French President for Assistance and Restoration of Ukraine, Pierre Elbrun.
The immediate plans are to strengthen cooperation in providing Ukraine with bridges and support for Ukrzaliznytsia. We have already agreed to supply rails and upgrade the locomotive fleet.
In addition, the parties are working on the participation of French partners in the restoration and support of Ukrainian air navigation, said Deputy Prime Minister Kubrakov.
The memorandum provides for cooperation in assessing the damage and restoring Ukrainian transportation systems, with a focus on the transition to environmentally friendly low-carbon mobility.
In particular, France will provide expert support and facilitate the participation of French companies in the reconstruction of Ukraine.
The cooperation will cover the areas of railways, public urban transport, multimodal transportation and logistics, air and sea transport, road infrastructure, and the development of environmentally friendly mobility.
