Georgia's PM suggests the US should reset relations

Jul 24, 2024

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has proposed a reset of relations with the United States, as it is equally in the interests of both countries.

His statement is cited by Interpressnews.

Kobakhidze said that he expects the US side to take “pragmatic, fair and correct steps towards Georgia.”

“Once again, we heard a number of unfair assessments of Georgia, in fact, it was an attack on Georgia by specific politicians, which is very sad. We, our American partners, want to offer a different agenda - the agenda of reset,” said the Georgian prime minister.

According to him, a reset is exactly what U.S.-Georgian relations need now.

“I remain hopeful that in the end, our American partners will make pragmatic decisions that will help restore relations that are equally in the interests of Georgia and the United States. I hope that our American partners will take a corresponding step,” Kobakhidze added.
