Georgia signs visa-free agreement with China

Citizens of Georgia will be able to visit China without visas and stay there for 30 days under the terms of the visa-free agreement.

Georgia and China have signed a bilateral agreement on mutual exemption of ordinary passport holders from visa requirements.

The document was signed by Georgian Foreign Minister Ilya Darchiashvili and Chinese Ambassador to Tbilisi Zhou Jian.

Once the document comes into force, Georgian citizens will be able to travel to China without a visa and stay in the country for 30 days. The agreement will come into force after the completion of internal legal procedures between the two countries.

The Georgian Foreign Minister noted that the existence of a bilateral visa-free regime with China is "an important circumstance in terms of strengthening friendship between peoples and developing and deepening economic ties between the countries".
