He announced this on Twitter, Ukrinform reports.
"I had the honor to visit the northern border of the country together with Ukrainian border guards. They are doing an excellent job protecting the future external border of the EU. Germany is proud to support these dedicated and brave men and women," Jäger wrote.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, on July 20, Deputy Foreign Minister Yevhen Perebyinis accepted copies of credentials from the newly appointed Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Ukraine Martin Jaeger.
Jäger assured that the German government is ready to further strengthen military, economic, and humanitarian assistance to Ukraine.
