The German concern Rheinmetall plans to start producing HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems used by Ukraine.
According to RBC-Ukraine, citing Reuters, Rheinmetall CEO Armin Papperger said this.
According to him, Rheinmetall is in talks with Lockheed Martin, an American company that produces HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems, which are actively used by Ukrainian troops.
"At the Munich Security Conference, we expect to sign an agreement with Lockheed Martin to start production of HIMARS in Germany," Papperger said.
He emphasized that the company has the technology to produce warheads and rocket engines, as well as trucks to accommodate launchers. Such a deal could involve investments of hundreds of millions of euros, with Rheinmetall planning to finance the bulk of it.
