According to Ukrinform, this was reported by the Israeli Defense Forces on Telegram.

"Since the beginning of ground operations in the Gaza Strip, the IDF has discovered more than 800 mines leading to Hamas underground tunnels. About 500 mines were destroyed using various operational methods, including explosives and blocks," the statement said.

As noted, some of the tunnel mines connected strategic facilities. In addition, many kilometers of tunnel routes were destroyed.

The tunnel mines were located in civilian areas, many of which were near or inside civilian buildings and structures, such as schools, kindergartens, mosques, and playgrounds. The IDF found large quantities of weapons inside some of the mines.

"These findings are further proof that the Hamas group is deliberately using civilians and infrastructure as cover for its terrorist activities in Gaza," the statement said.
