It is impossible now to establish strict control over the Kinburn Spit

Ukrainian defenders are not yet able to establish strict control over the Kinburn Spit.

This was stated by the spokeswoman of the Operational Command South Natalia Gumenyuk on the air of the TV channel Freedom.

She was asked why the amount of information about the Kinburn Spit in the Mykolaiv region has decreased.

- There is an information lull during the military operation. At the moment it (the operation - Ed.) continues. The enemy does not feel stability. If you know the geography of the Kinburn Spit well, the sandy alluvium does not give a sense of stability underfoot, because it is a constantly moving land, and, in particular, with the help of our counter-battery struggle, with the presence of the enemy on this stretch of land, such an effect is created for them, - she said.

Natalia Gumenyuk added that Russian troops cannot stay permanently on the territory of the spit, but come there by land from the left-bank part of the temporarily occupied Ukraine to strike at the Mykolaiv region in order to prevent the region from developing economically, after which the enemy retreats back.

- "So far, there is no absolute possibility to establish strict control and prevent the enemy from getting there (to the Kinburn Spit - Ed.), but we continue to work," said the representative of the OK South.

Earlier, Humeniuk reported that the Ukrainian military continue combat work on the de-occupation of the Kinburn Spit, but it is complicated, in particular, by weather conditions. Meanwhile, the Russian Federation is trying to fire from there, but this is constantly hampered by the counter-battery work of our troops.
