During a visit to Kuwait, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba met with the head of the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development, Walid Al-Bahar, and invited him to join the restoration of Ukrainian infrastructure.
This is stated in a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Ukrinform reports.
The ministry noted that the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development is a Kuwaiti state financial institution that participates in development projects in 105 countries around the world totaling $21.8 billion. THE FUND IS A STATE-OWNED FINANCIAL INSTITUTION IN KUWAIT.
During the meeting, the Minister spoke about the efforts of the Ukrainian government and international partners to restore Ukrainian infrastructure damaged by Russian aggression.
"Russian aggression has caused a lot of destruction. But as President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasizes, we will definitely restore everything. There are projects that can be funded right now. In the overall perspective of post-war reconstruction, Ukraine is likely to become the largest construction site in the world," Dmytro Kuleba emphasized.
The Minister invited the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development to join the restoration of Ukrainian infrastructure.
In this context, Walid Al-Bahar said that his fund is ready to take part in the International Conference on the Reconstruction of Ukraine to be held in London at the end of June. He also emphasized that cooperation with Ukraine will be one of the priorities of the foundation.
The ministry noted that the interlocutors paid special attention to social projects, including the construction of new hospitals, schools and kindergartens in Ukraine, as well as the implementation of psychological support and rehabilitation programs for Ukrainians affected by the war.
The minister and the head of the foundation agreed to organize a meeting of experts from Ukraine and Kuwait in the near future to discuss the prospects for cooperation in detail.
