Kuleba urges not to listen to Lavrov's threats about F-16s for Ukraine
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba expressed confidence that Ukraine will still receive F-16 fighter jets and urged not to be afraid of the Kremlin's threatening statements.
His comment came in response to Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov's statement that Russia would consider the provision of Western fighter jets to Ukraine as a "nuclear threat."
Kuleba emphasized that "the only threat to Russia is the Ukrainian soldier" and it is the Ukrainian military that Putin and the Russian leadership should fear the most.
"Ukraine will receive F-16s as planned. And Russia will 'swallow' it, despite Lavrov's formidable rhetoric," said Kuleba.
In the English-language original, Kuleba used 'tongue rattling' (which cannot be accurately translated in the Ukrainian version), playing on the English expression 'saber-rattling'.
