Apr 5, 2023

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that during talks with the Polish leadership on Wednesday, they managed to find a solution to the problem of Ukrainian grain exports to the European Union, which had been complained about by Polish farmers.

Zelensky made the statement during a press conference with Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, a Yevropeiska Pravda correspondent reports.

"We discussed the issue of Polish and Ukrainian farmers. We found a way out," the Ukrainian president said.

He did not specify what kind of solution he was talking about but added that in the coming days and weeks, we will finally resolve all issues.

"Because there can't be any questions or difficulties between such close partners and real friends as Poland and Ukraine," Zelenskyy emphasized.

Ukraine exports much of its grain across the land border with Poland due to the full-scale Russian invasion and the difficulty of exporting by sea.

The grain was supposed to transit through Poland to other countries, but remains in the country and is sold there. This caused dissatisfaction among farmers from Poland and several other countries, who demanded that the authorities solve the problem.
