"The rescue operation was difficult because of the mines across the road and under occupant fire. Currently, the evacuated residents, including 14-year-old Alina and her parents, are safe," the Ministry of Internal Affairs said.

According to law enforcement officers, what she saw on the road impressed the girl, as the Russians turned her town into ruins. Alina and her family are now receiving help and are recovering from the experience.

The girl said that under the bombs, just like in peacetime, she was engaged in drawing and dreamed of access to the Internet.

"If there is a hell, it is in Bakhmut. The night before we left, Russian troops shelled the city with incendiary shells. We smelled a very acrid odor. I put on a mask, looked outside, and everything was on fire. Thank God we got out of there," said Alina's father.
