At least 34 rockets were fired at Israel from Lebanese territory. Of these, 25 were intercepted by the air defense system. This was reported by the press service of the Israel Defense Forces on Thursday, April 6.

"After reports of sirens sounding in the Western Galilee (in northern Israel near the border with Lebanon - ed.), an initial investigation revealed 34 rockets fired from Lebanese territory into Israel. 25 rockets were intercepted by the Israel Defense Forces air defense system. Five rockets landed in Israel. As for the four additional launches, information on the location of the rockets is being clarified," the statement said.

The press service noted that this data is not yet final.

According to preliminary information, one woman sustained light shrapnel wounds as a result of the missile strike. Another woman was treated by medics because she was in a state of shock.

"Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is receiving regular updates on the situation and will hold an operational meeting with the security leadership," the Israeli government said.

Israel has raised combat aircraft. The last time Israeli territory was subjected to such attacks from Lebanon was in August 2021, when more than 20 rockets were fired.
