The new Lithuanian Minister of National Defence, Laurinas Kasciunas, said after his first visit to Kyiv in his new post and a meeting with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy that assistance to Ukraine would be even greater.

The minister said this in an interview with BNS on Wednesday.

Kasciunas called the talks with Zelensky "constructive and good".

"We will continue to work. I presented our entire support package, I want to say that it is bigger than we planned, and it will be even bigger - we will look for all the ways and opportunities to further increase it," the minister said.

He noted that he had also presented Zelenskyy with Lithuania's plans to deploy combat drones and a coalition for demining.

According to the minister, €84 million has already been allocated as part of Lithuania's three-year €200 million support program for Ukraine, which is €20 million more than planned.
