Multi-echelon defense system created in northern Ukraine

A multi-echelon defense system has been created in the Northern Operational Zone to deal with possible escalation of the situation on the borders with Belarus and the Russian Federation.
Lieutenant General Serhiy Nayev, Commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said this in an interview with Apostrophe.
"A multi-echelon defense system has been created on the northern borders of Ukraine, consisting of a set of measures and a certain set of troops in readiness for use. The defense forces are ready to respond to any scenarios of aggravation of the situation in the Northern operational zone. The system of training and combat operations is being continuously improved. Effective options for the use of military units and subunits of designated troops have been planned and are ready for implementation," said Lieutenant General Serhiy Nayev.
He also added that the intelligence forces are constantly monitoring the situation in the border areas and on the territory of Belarus.
